Sankar S Saadhaga Paravaigal

Plot No 7 at Amirtham Avenue is where we stay. It is on Bharani Street right opposite the big Tata Consultancy office in Velacheri. Sankar S Saadhaga Paravaigal is what we call ourselves. We do music and practice a lot here. Velacheri is always busy with all the IT offices around so the street gets full of bikes and cars during the day. Our place at Amirtham Avenue is where all the practice happens. We have instruments around the room and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when everyone is here at once. It’s a regular building and we try to keep things organized but sometimes the music scores get mixed up. We have been here for a while and the neighbors are used to the noise by now. We don't have a receptionist or anything fancy. Usually one of us just answers the door when someone knocks. It’s a very practical space for what we do. We spend hours just going over the same notes until they sound okay. Being opposite TCS makes it easy for people to find the street at least. We just focus on the music and getting through the rehearsals. It’s hard work but it is what we do. Sometimes we just sit out on the steps for a break when the weather is nice and the street is quiet.
