Saaral Orchestra

We are based at No 10/21 on East Mada Street in Aminjikarai. If you know the area, we are quite close to Pachaiyappas College. The street is always buzzing with students and people heading to the market. Our place is usually filled with the sound of someone tuning a guitar or checking the microphones. We have lived and worked in this part of Aminjikarai for a long time. The building is just a regular house that we’ve turned into a space for the orchestra to practice. There are sheet music folders everywhere and instruments leaning against the walls. It’s not very tidy, but it works for us. During the wedding season, we are hardly ever here because we are out performing. But during the off-season, you can find us here almost every day. We often sit outside on the steps when the weather is nice, just watching the people go by on East Mada Street. It’s a very local vibe. We aren't some big entertainment company with a fancy website and marketing team. We are just a group of musicians who have been playing together for years. People in the neighborhood know us, and we know them. Sometimes they even complain about the noise, but mostly they just wave when they pass by. It’s a simple life, focused on the music and the next gig. That is pretty much who we are and what we do.
