S V Hollow Bricks

Our place, S V Hollow Bricks, is located at 122 Mylapore Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always something going on outside our gate. We’ve been making hollow blocks here for a good bit of time, and it’s mostly just a few guys from the neighborhood helping out. The work is pretty straightforward—mixing, molding, and letting them sit out to harden. We don't have any big marketing plans; we just rely on people driving by or hearing about us from their neighbors. The yard gets pretty crowded when we have a lot of finished blocks waiting to be picked up, and sometimes it's a bit of a squeeze getting the trucks in and out. Mylapore Road is always humming with traffic, which helps people find us, I suppose. We spend a lot of time cleaning the molds and making sure the mixture is just right, otherwise the blocks don't come out straight. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and we usually go home covered in grey dust at the end of the day. But it's okay, it’s what we do. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area using our blocks, and it feels alright knowing we had a small part in that. We just stay focused on the daily tasks and try to keep the stacks organized so that everything is ready when a customer pulls up with their truck.
