S A L M Industries takes up a good bit of space from 341 To 345 in Jayanthi Nagar. We are over in Karukku, which is part of the Ambattur area. This part of town is full of small and medium factories, so you hear the sound of machines all day long. Our units are always busy. We have workers coming in from all over the neighborhood. The buildings are practical and built for work, not for looking pretty. We have a lot of equipment inside and things can get a bit loud when everything is running at once. Ambattur is a place where people know how to build things, and we fit right in. We don't have a fancy office with leather chairs. Instead, we have workbenches and tools and parts waiting to be put together. The road in Jayanthi Nagar can get a bit muddy when it rains, but the work doesn't stop. We usually have some crates stacked up outside waiting for the trucks to pick them up. It is a straightforward operation here. We show up, we run the machines, and we make sure the orders are ready. It’s just regular industrial work. Most of us have been working in this area for a long time, so we know the neighbors well. It’s a community of makers and we are glad to be part of it. We keep our coffee pot going all day.
