Rural Reach The Unreached

Our office is tucked away at No 12 Rajaji Street in Chennai. If you know the area, it is quite central but our work usually takes us far away from these city streets. Rural Reach The Unreached is basically a small group of us trying to get things done in places where there isn't much help. We spend a lot of our mornings sitting around this wooden table planning trips to villages that most people in Chennai haven't even heard of. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound but we've gotten used to it by now. It isn't a flashy workplace with glass walls. It's mostly just shelves full of files and some old maps pinned to the wall. We travel quite a bit, so the office is sometimes empty for a few days at a time. When we are here, we are usually on the phone or typing out reports about what we saw in the rural areas. The traffic on Rajaji Street can be a headache when we are trying to load up the car for a trip. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It's just us doing what needs to be done. Sometimes we get back late in the evening and just leave everything in the middle of the floor until the next morning. It's a simple life, really, just trying to bridge the gap between the city and the outskirts. We keep things pretty basic around here.
