Royal Asian Unisex Saloon And Spa is over in Velacheri at No 123 P R Tower. We are right on the 100 Feet Bye Pass Road, which is always full of cars and bikes. Since we are a unisex shop, we get both men and women coming in throughout the day. The space in P R Tower is big enough for several people to get their hair cut at the same time. We have separate sections for the spa stuff because people want some privacy for that. Chennai weather can be really humid, so we keep the air conditioning running as much as we can. The shop has a lot of mirrors and some black chairs that we try to keep clean. Every morning involves a lot of laundry for the towels and making sure the scissors are ready. We don't really do much advertising; people just see our sign when they are stuck in traffic on the bye pass road. It can get noisy outside, but we usually have some music playing inside to cover it up. The staff mostly keeps to themselves unless they are talking to a customer about how short to cut their hair. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t have anything like a mission statement on the wall, just a price list and some pictures of different haircuts. People come in, get what they need, and head back out into the heat.
