R.K. Child Hospital

This hospital for children is tucked away on 27 Sivan Koil North Mada Street in Villivakkam. It is a very local spot, right near the temple area, so you can often hear the bells or the sounds of the festivals if it is that time of year. The street is usually crowded with people walking and bikes trying to get through. Inside, it is a bit different from a regular hospital because we have kids running around or crying most of the time. We have some colorful stickers on the walls to make it look a bit less scary for the little ones, though they still get nervous. There are benches for the parents and a small space where we keep the records. It gets pretty loud during the morning hours when everyone wants to be seen at once. We deal with runny noses, fevers, and all the usual stuff that kids get. The air feels a bit heavy sometimes with all the people in one room, so we keep the fans going at full speed. It is a simple place where we do the work that needs doing. We know most of the families who live around this part of Villivakkam. They’ve been coming to us for years. It’s not a polished medical center, just a local hospital where we try to look after the kids as best as we can.
