Pudhiya Swarangal Orchestra

You can find us at No 135 B on Swamy Naicken Street, which is just opposite the State Bank of India on Mount Road. Being right near Mount Road means there is always a lot of activity and noise around us. Pudhiya Swarangal Orchestra is located here, so our space is often filled with instruments like keyboards, drums, and violins. It’s definitely not a silent office by any means. We spend a lot of our time practicing and trying out new songs for our next performance. The building is an older one, but it serves our purpose just fine for rehearsals. We have been playing music together for quite a few years now. Most of the people who work here are just local musicians who love the craft. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy website. Usually, people hear about us through word of mouth or see us performing at a local temple function or a wedding. Swamy Naicken Street can be a bit narrow and crowded, especially with the bank across the way and all the people coming to use the ATM. But we like the location because it’s easy for everyone in the group to get to. Sometimes we have rehearsals that go on for hours, and you can hear the music drifting out onto the street. We just want to play good music and keep our schedule busy. It’s a lot of hard work and lugging heavy equipment around, but we are used to that by now. It’s a simple life focused on the next gig.
