Our office is located in the Labour Colony area of Guindy. The address is New No 10, which used to be Old No 136, on the main street there. Guindy is a very industrial and busy part of Chennai, so there is always some kind of noise or activity going on outside our windows. At Ontwerpe Branding Consultants Private, we spend our days working on how businesses look to the public. It’s a lot of sketching, looking at different colors, and trying to figure out what fits a name or a product. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. We’re just a small group of people who like design and branding. The building we are in is a bit older, but it works for us. We have all our computers and notebooks spread out on the desks. Sometimes it gets a bit messy when we are in the middle of a big project. Working in Tamil Nadu, especially in a place like Guindy, means you are right in the middle of all the trade and commerce. We like that atmosphere. We don't do big pitches or use complicated marketing speak to get our point across. We just sit down and work on the logos or the brand ideas until they look right. It is honest work and we take it one day at a time. The neighborhood has a lot of history with the labor movements, which is interesting to think about. We’ve been here long enough to know the local tea stalls by heart now.
