New India Beauty Palour

Our parlour is tucked away at No:47/22 on Thandavaya Gramma Street. Tondiarpet is a busy area, especially because we are so close to the market. You can always hear the sounds from the Tondiarpet Market nearby, which is just part of being in this neighborhood. We have been running New India Beauty Palour for a few years now. It is a small shop, nothing too big. Women from the surrounding streets come in when they have some free time. It’s usually for the basic things like a facial or hair oiling. Chennai weather is tough on the skin, so people look for a bit of relief. The street outside is narrow, and there’s always someone moving something or kids playing. We keep the inside tidy. It’s a plain room with a couple of chairs and some mirrors. We don't use any complicated machines. It’s just us working with our hands. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait, but that’s just how things are here. Most of our regulars are like neighbors. They come in and talk about their day while we do their hair. It is a very local vibe. We don’t have fancy brochures or anything. People just know where we are. We open the doors in the morning and wait for the first customer to walk in from the market side.
