Nargis Beauty Parlour

Our parlour is located at 14/23 St. Xavier Street in the Parrys area. We are quite close to Broadway, which is one of the busiest parts of Chennai. This little shop has been here for a long time. It’s a small place, really just enough room for the chairs and the supplies. We do threading, waxing, and hair work for the women around here. Most of our customers are locals who work in the nearby markets or live in the older apartments in Parrys. It’s always noisy outside with the trucks and the people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don't have a big staff or a front desk. You just come in, say hello, and wait a bit if we are busy with someone else. The building is quite old and has its quirks, but we keep our area tidy. We know all the little alleys and shortcuts around Broadway to get where we need to go. It’s not a fancy place where you’d expect a lot of luxury, but we do honest work with our scissors and thread. Many of the women who come here now used to come with their mothers when they were little. We like the energy of this part of Chennai. It’s a simple way of living, just running our small shop and talking to the folks.
