Mik Ladies Salon

Our place is at No 24 Wellington Estate. It’s on Commander In Chief Road, which most people call Ethiraj Salai these days. It is right in Egmore. We are sitting right across from Ethiraj College and next to the Presidency Club. Because of the college, there are always young women walking by and popping in to ask about prices or to get something done between their classes. The salon is a simple space for ladies. We have the usual setup with mirrors, basins for washing hair, and a few spots for sitting. Being in Wellington Estate, it feels a bit tucked away from the main road noise, which is nice. We start the day by checking the appointments and making sure the towels are dry. Sometimes the water pressure acts up, so we have to deal with that. It is just a normal salon life. We don’t do anything too fancy, just the regular stuff people need. Being so close to the college means we see a lot of the same students for years until they graduate. It’s interesting to see them grow up and move on. We try to keep the place tidy, but with hair and products, it is a constant battle. Egmore is a busy part of Chennai, and we are just one small part of it, doing our daily work. The Presidency Club next door is a quiet neighbor, which we appreciate during the long afternoons.
