Metro Music

Metro Music is tucked away on Arunachalam Road in Saligramam, specifically at number 20. Being near Surya Hospital means there is always an ambulance or some kind of activity happening right outside our door. Saligramam is a bit of a hub for this kind of work, so it feels right to be in this neighborhood. The shop itself is usually filled with the sound of someone testing out a guitar or checking a microphone. It isn’t always the quietest place to work, but we are used to it by now. We have a lot of stuff crammed into the space, from cables to bigger equipment, so you have to be careful where you step. Most of us here just really like music and that’s why we ended up in this line of work. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a workshop where things get done. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about what they are looking for, sometimes for hours if they are really into a specific sound. The walls are covered in posters and old flyers from local shows we have been part of over the years. It’s a bit dusty sometimes, but it has character and feels like home. We usually have the radio playing in the background or someone is humming a tune while they work on a repair. It is just a plain, honest shop where we deal with music stuff every day.
