METCHEM Industries

We are located right in the heart of the Ambattur Industrial Estate. Our unit is No.86e on the second main road. If you know Ambattur, you know it’s a huge area for manufacturing and industrial work. There’s always the sound of machinery and trucks in the background. METCHEM Industries has been here at this spot for quite a while now. The building is a bit older, with those heavy metal doors and concrete floors that you expect in an industrial park. We do a lot of chemical and metal-related work here. It’s not the cleanest job, so our clothes usually have a few stains by the end of the day. Our office is just a small partitioned section at the front where we keep the ledger and the phone. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a few fans going to keep the air moving. We don't really do much in the way of decorating. The walls are mostly bare except for some safety signs and a calendar. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. We know each other well, so we don't need a lot of formal rules. We just get the orders ready and make sure they go out on time. The second main road can get pretty clogged with lorries, so we try to schedule our pickups for the early morning. Sometimes the power cuts out for a bit, but we just wait it out and start back up. It’s a busy and very real place to work.
