If you walk down Nelvai Road in Perambur, you will find us at No.47. We are very close to the bus terminus and the Siddharth Apartments, so it is easy to spot the place. The smell of the rice and the meat usually gives it away before you even see the sign. We start early in the morning, getting the big pots ready. Cooking biryani is a long process and we don't like to rush it. It is hot work, especially in the Chennai summer, but we are used to the kitchen heat by now. We aren't a fancy restaurant with air conditioning and waiters in uniforms. It is a simple place where the food comes first. Most of our customers are locals who just want a good meal after a long day. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. Sometimes we run out of food earlier than expected and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It happens. We try our best to keep everyone happy. The area around the bus terminus is always moving, so there is never a dull moment. We just keep the fire going and the ladles moving. It is not a complicated business, just good food for hungry people in Perambur. When we see the regulars from Siddharth Apartments coming in, we usually know their order before they even say it. That kind of connection is what makes this job worth the effort. Nelvai Road is a good spot for us.
