Mahizhis Beauty Parlour

Finding No 21/11 on 5th Street isn't too hard if you know the Royapettah area well. Mahizhis Beauty Parlour is right in the middle of a very local Chennai neighborhood, near V M Street. The roads around here are a bit narrow and can get crowded with scooters and people walking to the market. We have a lot of women from the nearby Saivamuthioya area who have been coming to us for years. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s business, and there is always some conversation going on while someone gets their hair done. The Chennai humidity is something we deal with every day, so the fans are always on full blast. We do all the regular stuff like henna, threading, and haircuts. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when too many people show up at once, but nobody seems to mind. We just pull up an extra chair and everyone waits their turn. It’s a very practical kind of place. We don't have fancy lights or expensive decorations, just the things we need to do our work properly. The street outside has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. Most of our day is spent chatting with customers and making sure they are comfortable while we work on their hair or skin. We don't have a website or anything like that, people just find us by walking by.
