L&T Shipbuilding Limited

We are based out of the Tc-1 Building on the L&T Campus, which is located at No: 22, Mount Poonamallee Road in Manapakkam. It’s a big campus, and it can be a bit confusing to find the right building if you haven't been here before. L&T Shipbuilding Limited is just one part of what happens here. Shipbuilding is heavy work, and even though we are in an office building, the focus is always on the yards and the water. There is a lot of planning and numbers involved before anyone even touches a piece of steel. We have engineers and coordinators all working in the same space, usually with maps or blueprints spread out on the tables. It’s not a quiet place; there’s always someone talking about a deadline or a design change. We eat our lunch in the canteen and get back to it. The traffic on Mount Poonamallee Road is usually pretty bad, so most of us get here early and stay late to avoid the worst of it. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We build ships, and that takes a lot of coordination and time. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes it gets stressful, but that’s just the nature of the industry. We’ve been in Manapakkam for a while and it’s become home for the business. We just keep our focus on the projects at hand.
