Lakshmi Narasimhaa Clinic

Our clinic, Lakshmi Narasimhaa Clinic, is at 37 B on 1st Main Road in A G S Colony. That’s over in the Velachery area. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it’s usually pretty peaceful around here. The clinic is on the ground floor of a building, and we have a small sign outside so people can find us. 1st Main Road is a nice street with some trees, though the roots have pushed up the sidewalk in some places. Inside 37 B, we have a small waiting area with a few plastic chairs. We don't have a TV or anything, just some old magazines on a table. The walls are a plain white, and we try to keep them clean. In Velachery, the weather can get quite damp during the monsoon, so we have to watch out for leaks in the roof. We have a small consultation room where the doctor sees everyone. It’s private enough. Most of the people in A G S Colony know us by now. We see a lot of the same faces every month. The staff is just a couple of us, so we handle everything from cleaning to answering the phone. It’s a simple life. We open up in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person to arrive. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just take things one person at a time and do what we can for the people in Velachery and the general Velacheri area. It feels good to be part of the colony.
