Our place is over at Teetharattan Street, specifically at the building that uses both Old No 2 and New No 3. It is very close to the Zam Bazaar bus stop, so there is always a lot of activity happening right outside our front door. Anyone who knows this part of Chennai knows it is always moving and full of local energy. Catering and hiring out items for parties and weddings is what we do. Keeping track of all the different pots, pans, chairs, and tables is a lot of physical work. A good portion of the day is spent cleaning everything and making sure it is ready for the next person who needs it. During the main wedding seasons, the kitchen side of our work stays very busy. It gets quite hot in the back, but that is just part of the trade we chose. We are not some big, fancy hotel service with waiters in white gloves; we are just local people providing what our neighbors need for their family gatherings. Narrow streets like ours often get a bit blocked up when we are loading the trucks, so we have to move quickly to get out of the way. Chaos happens at times, but we have been doing this for so long that a good rhythm has developed. Most people come to us because they know we are right here in the neighborhood.
