J L Electricals

Our shop is tucked away on Sathya Nagar 2nd Street in Ekkatuthangal, right in the middle of a bunch of other small buildings. J L Electricals has been sitting here for a good while now, and most of our days are spent surrounded by coils of wire, fuse boxes, and those plastic casings for walls. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the front door open to catch whatever breeze comes through the street. People from the neighborhood often drop by because they need a new switch or their fan started making a weird clicking sound. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights; it’s mostly just shelves full of things people actually need for their houses. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road for a few minutes while we unload boxes of bulbs or PVC pipes, and the neighbors have to wait, but everyone around here knows each other. Usually, someone is sitting on a stool near the counter drinking tea and talking about the weather or local news while we look for a specific type of screw. It isn't a fast-paced corporate office or anything like that. We just handle the electrical stuff that keeps the lights on in the nearby homes. Most of the time, our hands are a bit dusty from handling wires, and the desk is covered in receipts and old pens that barely work. That is just how it goes here in Ekkatuthangal.
