Getting to Arcot Road in Porur every morning is an adventure in itself, especially with the Chennai traffic. Our office here at number 79 is where everything happens for us. It’s a busy place with a lot of history. You can usually find a few of us gathered near the entrance talking about the morning news or the weather before the workday really starts. Inside, the desks are covered in papers and old magazines because that’s just the nature of what we do. It isn’t the quietest office you’ll ever visit, but there is a rhythm to it that we all understand. We’ve been part of the landscape here for a long time. People come and go, but the core of the team stays the same. We handle a lot of information and media work, which means some nights we stay late to get things ready for the next day. The local tea stalls nearby are basically our second offices during break time. We don’t have any big corporate slogans on the walls. It’s just a practical space where we put in our hours. Sometimes the printers act up or the internet slows down when it rains, but we manage. It feels like a solid, lived-in space where real work gets done. It’s not always pretty, but it’s ours, and we know every corner of this building on Arcot Road and the local shops around us.
