Ideal Gents Beauty Parlour

Egmore is a busy area, especially around Montieth Road. Our shop, Ideal Gents Beauty Parlour, is at 10 Taas Mahal, specifically Shop No 3. It is an old building, but it has a lot of character. We see all kinds of people here because it is such a central spot in Chennai. Some workers come in during their lunch break, and others stop by after their shift is over. We have the standard barber chairs and all the tools laid out on the counter. It is a simple setup, nothing like those expensive places in the fancy hotels. We just focus on giving a good haircut and making sure the customer is happy with it. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but the shop stays mostly the same. We have a radio that plays music in the background, mostly old movie songs. The walls have a few pictures on them to give the place some life. It is a small space, so you get to hear everyone’s conversations. People talk about their families or their jobs while they sit in the chair. It is a friendly place. We do not rush anyone out. We just do the work, sweep the floor, and wait for the next person to walk through the door. It is how we have always done things here on Montieth Road.
