Greens Mens Saloon

This saloon is in Sowcarpet, on Mulla Sahib Street. The building number is 56/1. We are located quite close to the Mint Jain Temple. Sowcarpet is always crowded and noisy, no matter what time of day it is. There are scooters, carts, and people everywhere you look outside. Inside Greens Mens Saloon, things are a bit more relaxed and quiet. We have the usual barber chairs and some old pictures of hairstyles on the walls that have been there for years. Men from the neighborhood come in for a quick shave or a haircut before they go to work. We have seen the same faces coming through that door for a long time. It is a lot of talk about cricket matches and the local gossip. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so one of us is always sweeping it up with a broom. We do not have any fancy shampoos or expensive products. Just the basic things that get the job done right. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving. Sometimes we just stand at the door for a minute to watch the big crowd on the street. It is a noisy area, but you get used to the sound after a while. We stay open until late at night because that is when most of the guys finish their work in the textile shops nearby. It is a steady life.
