Geo Beauty Parlour

You can find Geo Beauty Parlour at No.3/9 in Ramalingapuram, right in the Otteri area. We are very close to the E.S.I. Hospital, so we often get nurses or people visiting the hospital stopping in for a quick service. The shop is tucked away a bit. We have a small sign outside that is slightly faded from the sun. Inside, it’s mostly just the essentials. Two chairs, a sink that leaks a little if you turn it too hard, and a shelf for the towels. Chennai heat is tough, so we keep the windows open, but that brings in the mosquitoes in the evening. We use a coil to keep them away. I’ve been working here long enough that I know which customer likes their hair short and who wants a lot of oil on their scalp. We don't use any fancy machines, just our hands and some basic tools. Sometimes the electricity goes off and we just have to sit in the dark and wait for it to come back. The neighborhood is okay, though it gets a bit muddy when it rains. We have a small plastic stool for kids to sit on when they come for a haircut. It’s not a big business or anything like that. We just open up, do the jobs that come in, and close when it gets dark. It’s a simple way to make a living here in Otteri and we like it that way.
