Our salon is on the second floor at No. 52/23, right on the First Main Road in Jawahar Nagar. If you know where the Coffee Day is, we are just opposite that, right above the Reliance Footprint shop and near the Murugan Temple. It is a busy area, especially with people going to the temple or shopping nearby. Being on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, which is nice when things aren't too frantic. Inside, it is mostly the sound of hair dryers going and people chatting about their day. We have big mirrors everywhere and those black chairs that spin around. There is always hair on the floor because someone is always getting a trim, and we are constantly sweeping it up to keep the place decent. It is a different kind of work than a shop on the ground floor. It feels a bit tucked away, but once you come up the stairs, it is quite active. We spend our whole day on our feet, moving from one person to the next. Sometimes the smell of hair products and shampoo gets really strong, so we have to open a window to let some fresh air in. It is not a quiet place, but it has a good energy to it. People come in looking one way and leave looking another, and we have been doing this routine in Periyar Nagar for quite some time now.
