Devine Dreams

We are Devine Dreams, based at No 7/709, 186th Street in Muthamil Nagar, which is in the Kodungaiyur area. You can find us right behind Malthi Mahal. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it’s usually pretty calm around here until we start loading the trucks. We do event planning and decoration work. Our office is more like a storage room with a desk in the corner. We have bags of artificial flowers, rolls of carpet, and lights everywhere. It’s a bit crowded, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Most of our clients are people from the local area who are planning a wedding or a birthday party. We sit down with them, look at some photos of past work, and talk about what they need. It’s a very straightforward process. We don’t have a big corporate office or a sales team. It’s just us doing the work. Sometimes we’re up at four in the morning to start a setup at a hall, and other times we’re working late to tear everything down. It’s hard on the back, but we’ve been doing it for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Chennai; we just want to make sure the decorations look right and the client is okay with how things turned out. It’s practical, hands-on work that keeps us busy every week. Most of our neighbors know when we have a big job.
