Our little setup is at No-6/11 in the O Block of Agathiyar Nagar. If you know Villivakkam, you know it’s a real residential kind of place, so having Delman Food And Spices Private Limited right here on 9th Street feels very local. The air around our building usually smells like whatever spices we are handling that day. It’s a strong scent that stays on your clothes, but you get used to it after a while. The office is tucked away and isn't the easiest to find if you aren't looking for it, but we like it that way. It’s just a regular building where we do the sorting and the packing and the paperwork. We have a few desks pushed together and a lot of shelves for the spice samples. It’s not very polished; the walls could probably use a new coat of paint and the floor gets a bit dusty from the bags. We spend most of our time talking to suppliers or trying to figure out the best way to store the new stock we just got in. It’s a lot of manual work, moving sacks around and making sure everything is labeled right. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. It’s just us doing the daily grind in Villivakkam, making sure the food and spices are taken care of properly before they go out.
