Our place, Chetti Masala Food And Spices Private Limited, sits right on Erikarai Salai in Kotturpuram. We are located at number 15/6. It’s a pretty busy area of Chennai, 600085. We deal with masalas and different spices every single day. The air usually smells like turmeric or chili when we are working. It’s a messy job sometimes, getting all the powders sorted and packed, but we’ve been doing it a while. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular spot where we keep our stock and handle the paperwork. We get a lot of noise from the road outside. People stop by sometimes to ask what we’re doing. We mostly just focus on getting the food and spices out to where they need to go. It’s hard work, especially when it's humid outside. We don’t have a big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just a few of us sitting around the table or the storage area. We try to keep things moving. Some weeks are quiet, while others feel like we can't keep up with the grinding and mixing. That’s just life in the spice business here in Kotturpuram. We like the neighborhood though.
