You can find us at number 35 on the Main Road in T Nagar. If you know Chennai, you know how busy T Nagar gets, especially during the festival seasons. Our shop is right in the thick of it. The entrance is fairly narrow, so you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. Inside, it’s a long, thin space that we’ve packed with as many books as we can fit. The shelves are mostly wooden and they reach up pretty high. Because it’s an old building, the ceiling is a bit low and it can feel a little cramped when there are several people browsing at the same time. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on a few wall fans to keep the air moving, but it still gets quite warm in the summer months. There is always a lot of noise coming from the street outside—shouting vendors and constant horns. We’ve been here for quite a while, so we’ve seen shops around us change names and owners many times. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on our inventory. We don't have a fancy catalog system. We just remember where most of the things are. It’s a bit disorganized at times, with piles of new arrivals sitting on the floor waiting to be sorted. It’s just a regular local book shop run by people who like being around books all day.
