Blooms Beauty Beauty Parlour

Our shop, Blooms Beauty Beauty Parlour, sits at No 18 on Barracka Road in Kilpauk. We are in the Secretariat Colony area, which is a bit quieter than the main roads. It’s a decent spot with a few trees nearby. The shop itself is just one room with a small curtained area in the back for more private work. The walls are a bit yellowed from the years. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day because the Chennai air is so thick and warm. I usually keep a bottle of cold water for the customers who look tired. We do things like waxing, threading, and simple hair cutting. We don't have any of those big television screens or fancy music systems. Just a small clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly. Sometimes the door squeaks when people come in, and I keep meaning to oil it but I always forget. The ladies from the colony come by in the afternoons when they are finished with their housework. We talk about the price of vegetables and the weather while I work on their hair. It’s a very calm place, mostly. We use simple products that we buy from the local wholesaler. Nothing too expensive or hard to find. It’s just a small local parlor for the people living nearby to get their regular grooming done without any fuss or high prices.
