You can find Banenwereld on the 4th floor of Real Towers. It’s right across from the ICICI Bank on Roypettah High Road in Mylapore. Being on the fourth floor means we get a decent view of the traffic below, which is always moving. Mylapore is such an old, busy part of Chennai. There’s a lot of history around us, but we’re just a modern little setup. The elevator in this building is a bit temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. It’s good exercise, I guess. We have a few desks and a lot of coffee cups lying around. It’s a small team here. We don’t really go for that polished corporate look. Most of our furniture is mismatched, bought at different times. It feels lived-in. We spend our days mostly on the phones or looking at screens. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. Sometimes we all go out for lunch at the small mess nearby. The food there is better than anything you’d get at a big hotel. We like the local vibe. It keeps us grounded. We don’t promise anything crazy. We just do our work and go home. The office is a bit chilly when the AC is on, so most of us keep a sweater at our desks. We have a whiteboard that is full of scribbles that only we understand. It’s just how we operate.
