Balaji & Raghus Ilayathendral

We are located at No 42 on Kuppaiah Street. It’s right near the Madley Subway in West Mambalam, so it can get pretty congested during the rush hour. Balaji and Raghu started this place together because we wanted something of our own. Ilayathendral is what we call it. It’s mostly just us and a couple of helpers. The building is older, but it has character. We spend a lot of time here, sometimes even on weekends if things get backed up. People stop by often because the subway is so close. We’ve seen a lot of changes in West Mambalam over the years. Some shops closed, new ones opened, but we’re still here. It’s not a shiny office. There’s dust on the shelves and papers everywhere. We know where everything is, though. Dealing with the rain is always a challenge in this part of town. The street gets a bit flooded but we just put on our boots and keep going. We don’t really have a big marketing budget or anything. Word of mouth is how most people find us. It’s a slow and steady way of doing things. We like it that way. No stress about being the biggest, just being consistent. Sometimes we sit on the front steps and watch the commuters rush by. It’s a nice way to end the day. We haven't changed much since we opened, and we don't plan to. It’s comfortable as it is.
