Arun Brothers Hair Saloon

We are located right on Dr. Ambedkar Salai, just a short walk from the IOB bank. Most people in Valasaravakkam know where that is because the bank is such a big landmark for the area. Arun Brothers Hair Saloon has been in this same spot at number 13 for many years. It is a typical hair saloon with big mirrors and those heavy chairs that creak a little bit when you sit down in them. We do not have fancy coffee machines or a separate lounge for waiting. There are just a few plastic chairs lined up for when it gets crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Usually, the only sounds you hear are the scissors clipping and the radio playing some old songs in the background. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so one of us is always sweeping it up. The Chennai heat can be really tough, so we keep the ceiling fans going at full speed all day long. We know most of our customers by their first names since they live just a few streets away from the shop. It is a family business that was passed down, and we just keep doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a while, but the customers do not seem to mind much. They just sit and talk while waiting for their turn in the chair.
