We spend most of our time here at Anna Salai. It gets pretty loud with the traffic outside but inside it's just us working on different art pieces. We’ve been at this spot in Teynampet for a while now. Some days are slow, others we can't keep up. The workshop gets messy with all the materials lying around. We don't really worry about making everything look perfect for visitors, we just focus on getting the work done right. Sometimes people get lost looking for the entrance since the street is so busy. If you know where the Court Yard is, you've probably seen our sign. It’s a lot of manual work, hands getting dirty, and trying to finish things before the sun goes down and the traffic peaks. We have a small tea stall nearby where we take breaks. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning everywhere, just a functional space where the work happens. We mostly just keep to ourselves and handle whatever orders come in that week. It's a living, you know? Just regular folks trying to make things that look decent. It is right near the Marriott, so that helps people find us. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools and the paints. We like it that way because it keeps things simple and we don't have to answer to anyone but our customers. Every day is a bit different.
