A One Hair Dresses is situated on Thippu Street in Triplicane. We are directly opposite the D1 Police Station. It’s a very safe spot to be, that’s for sure. Triplicane is a crowded neighborhood with lots of narrow streets and old buildings. Our shop is one of those places that has been around for a bit. It’s a narrow space but we make the most of it. I have three chairs and a big mirror that runs along the wall. The morning sun hits the front of the shop and it’s a nice time to start work. Being across from the police station means there’s always someone around. I get a mix of customers—some students from nearby, some office workers, and the locals who have lived here forever. We don't do anything too fancy. It’s just straightforward hair cutting and shaves. I like the smell of the talcum powder and the sound of the clippers. It’s a honest business. I try to keep the place as clean as possible, but in a busy area like Thippu Street, a bit of dust is normal. People know me by name and I know theirs. It’s a community thing. If you’re heading down towards the station, just look across the road and you’ll see us. We’re open most days and usually have a chair free if you come at the right time.
