Dhanalakshmi Steel

If you head down Gst Road in Singaperumalkoil, you will find Dhanalakshmi Steel at number 76. We have been at this location for a good while. The road gets very busy with all the transport trucks moving through, so it can be quite noisy during the day. Our yard is filled with all sorts of steel pieces and stacks of metal. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s a steel yard, so that is to be expected. We spend a lot of time outside, even when the sun is really beating down. The guys working here are used to the heavy lifting and the heat. We don’t really have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a desk with a lot of paperwork and a fan that barely works. We keep track of everything in big ledgers. It’s how we’ve always done it. People come by needing different lengths of steel, and we do our best to find what they need in the stacks. Sometimes the delivery trucks get delayed, and we have to wait around, which is just part of the routine. We are a local bunch, and we take pride in just doing the work without making a big fuss about it. It’s a tough job sometimes, but it’s what we know.
