Murkongselek Agro Producer Company Limited

Up here in Village Boikunthapur, near Laimekuri and Jonai, things move a bit slower. We started Murkongselek Agro Producer Company Limited because we are quite far from the big towns. Getting supplies and selling our crops is always a challenge when you are this far out. We are just a group of local farmers who live and work in this corner of the state. Most of us have been on this land our whole lives. We know every dip and hill in our fields. When we decided to form this company, it was mostly about making sure we didn't get left behind. We don't have a big fancy warehouse. We use what we have in Boikunthapur. It’s a lot of physical labor, day in and day out. We grow what the soil allows us to. Sometimes the river gives us trouble, or the roads get washed out, but we just find a way around it. We don’t use a lot of big words or have long meetings with slides and charts. We just sit around and talk about what needs to be done tomorrow. It’s about making sure everyone has enough to get by and that our children can stay here if they want to. We are proud of our work, even if it’s hard and doesn’t make us wealthy. It’s a real life, and we are doing it together without making a big fuss about it.
