Our shop is at 26, P.N. Palyam Road in Ganapathy. It is a busy stretch of road and there is always something going on outside. We deal with control systems and spare parts for machines. The shop has been here for a long time, and the floor is worn down in the spots where people stand at the counter. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling, filled with boxes of switches and sensors. Half the time, I am the only one who knows where everything is because the labels have faded over the years. We have a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it helps when the heat gets bad in the afternoon. I usually have my lunch sitting at the back desk while reading the local newspaper. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. People just know us from being around the neighborhood for so long. Sometimes a customer comes in with a part that is thirty years old and asks if we can find a replacement. It takes some digging through the old stock, but we often find a match. The front door squeaks every time someone opens it, and I keep meaning to oil it, but I always forget. It is a practical place for people who need parts for their factories. We don't make a big deal out of things, just try to be helpful to whoever walks in.
