Being over here near Barfiwalla School in Andheri West means we hear the kids shouting at recess every day. Our place at 8-B, 223 is a bit tucked away, but people find us eventually. We do engineering work, mostly fixing things that other people can’t seem to get right. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil spots, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a tight space with a lot of tools hanging on the walls. TN Nagar is always crowded, so getting parts delivered can be a real headache sometimes with the traffic. We’ve been here for a few years now. Most of us grew up around Mumbai, so we’re used to the humidity making everything feel a bit sticky in the summer. We don’t wear suits or anything like that. Just regular clothes that we don’t mind getting dirty. There’s a small desk in the corner where the paperwork piles up, but we’d much rather be out on the floor working on a machine. If you come by, you might find us having a break outside or arguing over which wrench is missing. It’s a loud place, especially when the drills are going, but it’s honest work. We don’t have a big marketing team, just a bunch of guys who know how to use their hands. We just focus on the job and getting it done properly before the day ends.
