Vikas Mineral Foods Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No 76 in the Industrial Area (Phase I). The building is simple, just some walls and a roof that has seen better days. We just focus on the daily work of handling minerals and food stuff. It is not a fancy office with carpets or anything like that. Most of us have been working together for years, so we do not need to talk much to know what to do. We know the neighbors, mostly other guys in Phase I. We do our job and go home at the end of the shift. Nothing too complicated or special. The name sounds official but we are just regular folks. Processing takes a lot of time and patience. We check things, pack them into bags, and load the trucks when they arrive at the bay. It is dusty sometimes, and your clothes get dirty by noon. We have our routines that we follow every day. Coffee breaks are short and usually involve sitting on a wooden crate. The machinery can be loud, so we use hand signals. If you drive down the main road in Phase I, you will find us easily enough. It is near the other big warehouses. We do not have a big sign out front, just the number. It works for us. We keep the floor clean as much as possible, but it is a constant battle. It is hard work, no doubt. But it keeps us busy.
