Being at New Motor Market 110, means there is always a lot of grease and the smell of oil in the air. Surendra Kumar & Co. has been in this particular spot for a good number of years now. The market is always full of shops and mechanics working on trucks, so it never really gets quiet until very late. We spend a lot of our time looking through old ledgers or checking the stock we keep in the back room. It is a little bit dark inside because the shop is deep, but we know exactly where every item is kept on the shelves. Shop number 110 is right in the thick of the daily market chaos. We get a lot of workers coming in with dirty hands asking for specific parts or supplies they need to finish a job. Sometimes we do not have the exact thing they want and we have to spend time calling other people to find it. It involves a lot of sitting and talking and waiting for the next person to walk through the door. We drink quite a bit of tea throughout the day to keep ourselves going. The New Motor Market is a busy place, especially when drivers are in a hurry to get their vehicles fixed. We do not have any fancy decorations on the walls here. It is just shelves and boxes and the smell of metal. We just keep working and that is fine with us.
