Sunny Stationery & Gift Shop

We are over in Sector 18, and it’s a fairly quiet spot most of the time. We handle a lot of school supplies because there are schools nearby, so we have stacks of notebooks and different kinds of pens. The gift side of the shop grew out of that. People would come for a pen and then ask if we had any nice paper or a gift for a birthday. So, now we have a whole section for that. It’s mostly small stuff like pencil cases, diaries, and some decorative pieces. It’s not a huge place, so we have to be careful about what we buy to put on the shelves. Usually, it's just one or two of us working here. We spend a lot of time organizing the shelves because the pens always seem to get mixed up. During the start of the school term, the place is a bit of a disaster area with boxes everywhere, but we get through it. We like being in Sector 18. It’s a nice neighborhood and we know the regulars who come in every week for their newspapers or office supplies. We don't do anything fancy with the store layout. It's just rows of things where they fit. If you need a specific type of binder or a certain color of ribbon, we can usually dig it out from the back if it's not on display. We keep the lights on until late evening for the last-minute shoppers.
