Singla General Store

Singla General Store is just a small place here in Sector 47. We’ve been at number 79 for quite a bit of time now, and most of the people who live around here know us well. It isn't a fancy shop with bright lights or anything like that. We just keep the shelves filled with the things people need every day like soap, biscuits, and notebooks. Every morning starts about the same way. I unlock the shutters, sweep the front bit of the pavement, and wait for the first few people to stop by on their way to work. Sometimes the delivery trucks come early and we have to move boxes around to make space. It gets a little crowded in here when more than three people are standing at the counter, but we manage. My kids sometimes help out after school if I need to run an errand. We don’t really do any big advertising or have a website. People just walk in because they forgot to buy sugar or they need a new pen for their exams. The building isn't brand new, and the paint is peeling a little in the corners, but it feels like home to us. I try to remember what everyone likes, which makes the day go by faster. It’s just a regular life running a shop in this neighborhood. We are here from morning until late evening most days of the week. We try to keep things stocked up for when the neighbors come by.
