Pandit Ashish Shastri

My place is located in Mico Layout, specifically at 345 on the 2nd Main. You have to find the 4th Cross in Sector 15 to get here. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t from this side of town. The house is an old one, with those heavy wooden doors that creak when you open them. I’ve been practicing here for years, and the walls are covered with photos and old calendars. I don’t believe in making things look fancy just for the sake of it. The room where I see people is simple, with just enough light to read the texts. I spend a lot of time checking the almanac and making notes in my diary. Mico Layout has changed a lot, with new buildings coming up everywhere, but my corner feels the same as it always did. People come by for all sorts of reasons, and I just try to help them understand what’s happening in their lives. We usually sit on the floor because it feels more grounded. The traffic outside can be a bit loud during the rush hour, but we just talk over it. It’s not a professional office in the way people think of these days. It’s more like a friend’s living room where you can just be yourself. I like the routine of it all, from the morning rituals to the last visitor. Every day brings someone new.
