Palwinder General Store

If you live near Mohali Income Tax Colony 487, you probably know Palwinder General Store. We’ve been here for years, selling everything from milk and bread to soap and notebooks. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes I have to use a little ladder just to reach the biscuits at the top. It’s mostly me and sometimes my brother helping out behind the counter. We open early in the morning because people need their milk before work. It can be a bit chaotic when the delivery trucks arrive and block the narrow path outside. We just move things along as fast as we can. I try to keep everything in stock, but sometimes we run out of the popular brands and people have to settle for something else. Our regulars usually stop by for a chat while they pick up their groceries. It’s nice knowing everyone's name. We don’t have a fancy computer for billing, just a basic calculator and a drawer for cash. The light in the back flickers a bit, but we’ve gotten used to it. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop where we try to keep the basics available for anyone who stops by. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a lot of boxes and tired feet at the end of the day. We even keep a few jars of sweets near the front for the kids who come in with their parents after school.
