Ganesh Provisional Store

We started Ganesh Provisional Store over here on J P Road in Sector 40 quite a few years back now. It’s just a small place but we try to keep most things people ask for on a daily basis. Most mornings involve unpacking crates of milk and setting up the grain sacks near the front. Andheri West is a busy area so there are always people dropping by for a packet of biscuits or some salt they forgot to buy earlier. We don't have fancy shelves or anything, just the usual racks and some old wooden counters. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when the delivery guys come at the same time as customers, but we manage. My brother helps out in the evenings when the office crowd returns. We know most of the neighbors by name since they’ve been coming here forever. It’s not a big supermarket, just a local spot where you can grab your staples without much fuss. If something is out of stock, we usually get it by the next day. The fan in the corner makes a lot of noise but it keeps the place cool enough during the summer months. Living and working in the same area means we see the same faces every day. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We just keep the ledger updated and make sure the supplies are fresh. The wooden shelves are a bit warped from the humidity, but they hold the heavy bags of rice just fine. Every Saturday we sweep out the dust from the back corner. It is a bit of a chore, but it has to be done. My neighbor sometimes brings his dog by, and we have to make sure he stays outside.
