Chandel Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over in the Chandel Sub-Division area. We operate out of Sk Larshing’s place in P Ralringkhu. It is a bit of a trek to get out here if you are not from around these hills. The office is just a modest setup in the village house. We do not have fancy computers or high-speed internet to use most of the time. We mostly rely on our handwritten notebooks and talking to people in person. The weather out here in Chandel can be very unpredictable, so we spend a lot of our time worrying about the crops and the state of the roads. It is just a small group of us trying to make things work for the local farmers. We often meet in the late evenings when the sun starts to go down and it gets a bit cooler. There is a lot of talk about grain, the weather, and how to get things to the market. We do not have a big sign out front, just the name of the company written on a small board. People around here know where we are. It is a community thing more than anything else. We have all grown up around here and we know this land well. Sometimes we have to travel quite a distance to reach the farther fields. It is a tough job but we keep at it day after day. That is just how we work in Chandel.
