Chakpi Konthang Farmers Producer Company Limited

Chakpikarong is where we are based, way down in the Chandel district of Manipur. Joykumar Wanglum is the person whose house we use as a home base for the company. We are a group of farmers from around the Tiyal Tampak area. Being so close to the border, things can be a bit different here, but farming is still the main way people live. We formed this company to help handle the business side of things. Most of us are good at growing things but not so good at the paperwork, so we help each other out. It’s a producer company, which sounds official, but really it’s just us neighbors trying to stay afloat. The weather in Chandel can be unpredictable, and sometimes the river gives us trouble, but we keep at it. We grow a variety of crops depending on the season. It’s a lot of manual labor, and we don't have much in the way of high-tech gear. We just use what we have and work hard. You won't find us in a big office building. We’re usually at Joykumar’s place or out in the fields around Chakpikarong. If you’re in the 795102 area and need to talk about farming or produce, just stop by. We aren't flashy or corporate, just local people trying to make a decent living from the soil. It’s a tough life but it’s ours and we are proud of the work we do.
