Nisha Engineering Works

Nisha Engineering Works is out in Chakan Phase - 4 G. I. D C Vatva 217. Being in an industrial zone means it is always noisy and there is a lot of truck traffic moving around outside our gates. Inside it is all about the machines and the smell of cutting oil. We have various lathes and drills that run for most of the day and the floor is usually covered in metal shavings that we sweep up every evening. It is a rough and ready kind of place where the work is more important than how things look. Our clothes are usually stained with lubricants and the metal dust gets into everything. We spend a lot of time checking measurements with calipers and making sure the parts are coming out right. It can get pretty lonely out here in Phase 4 especially when we stay late to finish a job but that is the nature of engineering work. The building is a simple shed structure with high ceilings to keep the heat from getting too trapped during the summer months. We have a small corner with a kettle for tea and some old stools where we take breaks. It’s just a place where we work with metal and try to keep the machines running without too many breakdowns. The address is a bit of a drive from the main city but this is where the industry is.
