If you head down to Shiv Shanker Market in Madangir, you’ll find us at Shop No 4. That’s where Wasim Motors has been for years. It’s a small shop, and honestly, there’s usually grease on the floor and tools scattered around. That’s just how a mechanic’s place looks when there’s actual work to be done. We spend most of our time under hoods or changing out parts that have seen better days. The market is always loud with people shouting and horns honking, but we’re used to it by now. I started this place because I like seeing how engines work and figuring out problems. Sometimes a customer comes in with a sound they can’t explain, and we have to poke around until we find the issue. It’s not always easy work, especially when it’s hot outside and the metal is burning to the touch. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning or magazines. People usually just stand around on the pavement and chat while we finish up their vehicles. My hands are almost always black from the oil, and no matter how much I scrub, it stays under my fingernails. We get all kinds of bikes and cars coming through Shop No 4. Some are old beaters and some are newer, but we treat them all the same way. It’s just a local garage where we try to get people back on the road without too much fuss or delay.
